Something is Coming

The grass know when it is coming. It waits with the river, and the hot feet, for the cooling rains that bring the end of the year in Ethiopia. The new year begins with the blooming of beautiful yellow Meskel daisies, which light up the start of every new year with bright hope and good tidings. These cheerful, simple flowers fill the pages of our celebration of the Ethiopian New Year and the hope that dawns wherever Meskels bloom.
